The Maryland Federation of College Republicans (MDFCR) is the leading voice for young conservatives in the Old Line State. We aim to empower members across the state to play a legitimate role in Making Maryland Great Again. Our Executive Board, through many conversations and much deliberation, has put together a list of our

top priorities for the 2026 Legislative Session. 

 

Our priorities emphasize the perspective of young Marylanders who want to contribute to a better future in our state. Students feel the burden of the rising cost of living and are concerned with decisions made by Maryland's far-left supermajority.

 

United by these concerns and the desire to enact pragmatic solutions to the problems that face our state, the Maryland Federation of College Republicans issues its 2026 Priorities.

We urge the General Assembly to:

• Codify students' right to self defense on-campus.

• Ban "gender affirming" mutilation for children.

• Reduce regulations on building new homes. 

• Re-empower local permit review power.
